Designed for two and built wall-to-wall, The Sage Study transforms a 10-foot wall into a balanced home office with generous workspace, concealed storage, and open display. Sage-painted cabinetry, warm chestnut-stained birch-and-maple surfaces, and integrated sconces give the room a calm, tailored character.

01 — The Brief

It Began With a Description.

The homeowners wanted a wall-to-wall home office where two people could work comfortably together. They described balanced storage on both sides, open shelves for display, and a shared central workspace. There was no reference image—the design began entirely with their description.

02 — Initial Concept

Finding the Balance.

The first elevation translated the idea into proportion: two 30-inch storage sections framing a 60-inch shared desk across the 10-foot wall. Simple lines established symmetry, workspace, and the relationship between closed storage and open display.

03 — Developed Design

Giving the Idea Character.

With the layout established, the concept developed into a more complete presentation. Sage-painted cabinetry, warm wood surfaces, integrated sconces, refined storage, and layered open shelving transformed the original arrangement into a calm, tailored room designed for two.
